Sun Valley

Kim's brother Ken lives in Sun Valley, Idaho and we try and go up and visit a couple of times a year. This year Rob had a 7 on 7 football tournament so he couldn't go with us. Grandma Linda, Kyle and Hillary and Karee and her family went with us. We had a fun filled three days with Ken. Grandma rode up with us early Friday, while Karee and Kyle came later because of work. The kids were so excited to go. On the drive there Cael and Mykenna had to wear their swim goggles because they were so excited to go swimming. It was so funny to look back at them watching a movie with the goggles on. Cute kiddos! As soon as we got there we unpacked and headed for the Horseman Center. It has all kinds of animals and Ken had some horses for the kids to ride. Cambrie loves a horse named Oreo so of course Ken had him saddled up and the another one for the other kids. Cambrie got on with a little instruction from Ken and rode by herself. The others rode with Ken leading them. They all loved it! The center also has lots of equiment and fun places to explore. Parker was in heaven on the snow plow. He would have spent the weekend there if we would have let him. We then went back and let the kids swim. They had a great time, but when we went to leave Cael had a massive melt down due to no nap that day. He layed face down on the ground and screamed and cried and wouldn't let me pick him up. Great show for the others at the pool.

On day two we went to the Sun Valley ski resort to take a ride up the mountain and have lunch together. It was beautiful!

I need to go feed the kids. I will finish tonight..

Lagoon with Grandpa J.R.

Grandpa J.R. wanted to get the whole family together and do a day at Lagoon. We have been having a lot of rain lately, but at the beginning of the week it looked like we might have a nice day when we planned to go to Lagoon. Unfortunately, as you can see from the pictures, we got dumped on all day long. I did throw in some garbage bags just as we were leaving the house and I am so grateful I did. We did have a couple of short breaks in the rain and during one of these breaks we jumped on the sky tram to go to the other end of the park. Of course while up there we see dark clouds approaching and the rain began to fall. I was riding with Parker and Kenna and quickly pulled the one garbage bag we had and had them huddle underneath. To make matters worse the ride stops. So we are stuck up in the rain storm without much cover. Parker starts to freak out and wants off like any kid would, but I am thinking it will start going any minute and we will be off soon....It didn't happen. We were stopped for at least 15 minutes and getting completely soaked and freezing. I told Parker we were going to count to 100 and by the time we were done the ride would start. (I am just praying this would work....yes literally praying in between counting.) As we got to about 65 the counting got considerably slower and the praying got considerably more frequent. :) My prayers were answered at about 85. At the end of the ride we found out the motor stopped working. Parker has told me many times since that he doesn't not want to ride that ride ever again. I am with ya buddy! Rob missed all of the excitement because he took Cael back home for a nap prior to the bad weather. Needless to say he came back to a different group of family. He took a couple of the kids on a few more rides and then ended up in the van with the heater cranked. I ran with a couple of the adults to get a couple more rides in. It was great because there were no lines. Seriously, we were on one ride and when it was finished we noticed nobody in line so we asked the worker if we could just stay on and go again. He told us no. We would have to get off the ride and walk out and around again to get in line....WHAT!?!?! There is nobody in line....we ended up getting off and going around and getting in line again. I thinking he was hoping we would leave so he could go inside out of the rain. Fat chance buddy!!!! We were getting our moneys worth. :) Even though the weather didn't cooperate we still had a good time and good laughs with family. Thanks DAD!

Summer Swim Lessons

We decided to do private swim lessons at North Davis Gymnastics this summer. I am so glad we did because the kids improved so much and had a great time! They had great instructors who were very patient and kind.

Cousin Trouble!

I watch my sister Karee's little guy a couple of days a week and on this particular day the boys wanted to watch a Baby Einstein dvd. So I turned it on and ran upstairs to finish fixing dinner. When I left they were both sitting together in our big rocking chair. After a few minutes a heard giggling which I just thought it was a funny part in the show. After a few more minutes I decided to go check on them and this is what I found. Our chair has a hole in it and the stuffing shows so it is a big temptation to pull it out. Well they completely emptied it and were running around throwing it at each other and having a great time. I had to grab the camera for this one. Cute kids aren't they, but boy are they going to get into some mischief when they get older.

Lagoon with theJenkins!!

We decided to get Lagoon season passes this year for our summer vacation. We also decided to meet our good friends the Jenkins family there for our first visit. When we left the sky was gray and it looked like a big storm was heading our way. We still went and knew we could leave if it did end up raining. It was raining pretty good at the Jenkin's home so we rescheduled with them for another day. Once at Lagoon the weather ended up being great, so we made an evening of it. To our surprise the Jenkins ended up coming a little later and we enjoyed the rides and company until 10:30 p.m. that night. We had so much fun and plan on making a weekly event of it.
