Memorial Day

We decided to go to Cokeville, Wyoming for Memorial Day. My grandfather passed away this last November so it was nice to spend the day with my grandmother. Later that day we took the kids up Pine Creek. It was beautiful! They enjoyed skipping rocks and checking out the caterpillars and bugs. In the video I love how Mykenna tells me that she poked the caterpillar with the stick, but then when she finds out that she hurt it she changes her story. It was a great day!

Yummy M&M's

Rob and I were downstairs going through boxes and when we went to check on Cael this is what we found.

My mom had brought us some crispy M & M's earlier and we had left them on the table. Now that he is climbing nothing is safe. :)

Preschool Program

Mykenna had her preschool program today. She attends Miss Julie's Preschool. Her teacher is great and she has had a great year. I placed her in the older class because of carpooling reasons and she did really well. The program was really cute! Each class sang a couple of songs and then they recieved their certificates. She did a great job!

Narnia Day!

Cambrie's class spent the entire day in the world of Narnia to celebrate the opening of the new movie “Prince Caspian.” For the first part of the day, students focused on the first C.S. Lewis book “The Magician’s Nephew” with a scavenger hunt set in WWII London. The second half of the day, students focused on “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” After a short blitz, students were tagged and sent on a train to the countryside. Once in the countryside, students walked through the wardrobe into Narnia (music and science classes). Students then watched teachers freeze things with nitrogen and then learned to play the recorder. Following that the kids had Turkish delight, tea and crumpets and tree bark snacks. Along with meeting Aslan, they met the White Witch, the Beavers, Mr. Tumnus, Ginarrbrik, and Father Christmas. At the end of the day they had The great battle (flour dodgeball). They had parents come dress in black to battle against the kids. It was awesome! Rob took the day off to be in the battle and watch the kids while I helped in the morning. What a great Dad! :)

Cambrie's teacher and parents have been preparing for most of the year for "Narnia" day. I have been helping the last couple of months in the preparations and got talked into dressing up as Ms. Lafae (a crazy old woman) and help deliver their invitations(a secret box). Don't ask me why I agreed to this. The things you will do for your kids. It actually ended up being really fun to see their faces.

Isn't this amazing. A mother of one of the students spent over 100 hours on this. She also made a big wardrobe.

This post doesn't do the day justice. It was absolutely amazing! What a great day for the kids!

Parker's Birthday Party

Parker will be 7 on Wednesday, May 14th. We celebrated with the extended family on Saturday. He had a great time and loved all his gifts! He is into Star Wars now and got toys and movies and was in heaven. Can't believe he is going to be 7 years old. Time really does fly! We are blessed to have him in our lives!

Reading glasses or swimming goggles?

So last night while reading scriptures Mykenna found these goggles and put them on. What a crack up. She is so funny! Gotta love her!
Cael then found them the next day! What a cutie!

Dinosaur Park Fieldtrip

Mykenna had a preschool fieldtrip to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden. It was so fun! They started out with a short lesson on dinosaurs and then got to color sunglasses and decorate them. She did a great job! We then went and played on the playground and saw the rest of the park.

Mother Daughter Party

For our Enrichment night this month we had a mother daughter party. We were told to dress alike and so I had Rob snag some jerseys from the school for us. We had a great time! The jerseys were very large on the girls. Kenna's actually hit the floor on her. So we had to pin them up. Kenna liked the idea until we got to the party and then complained the entire time to have me take it off. She won and we unpinned her. We had great desserts and made bracelets. It is awesome to just have girl time together.

Coach Pitch - Parker

Coach pitch has begun. We decided to try another season with Parker and have Rob be his coach. He was excited about it when we signed him up, but when we were getting ready for his first game he decided he didn't like baseball and didn't want to really go. We got him to the field and he enjoyed parts of the game. He loves to bat, but standing in the field isn't that fun for him.

He has finally decided he is done. He just dropped his mit and started walking off the field. Guess we will see how the rest of the season goes. :)

Projects, Projects, Projects

This post is long overdue. When Jessie and Matt came out in the beginning of April Jessie and I did some projects together. Here are some of the things we did.

The pictures were already up, I just put up the family sticker.

The bathroom ended up not being as easy as we thought it would. So we got the white paint on the walls while Jessie was here. Jessie was so great to be willing to help! Thanks, Jessie!

This was suppose to be my project....but Rob kind of got pulled into it. Doesn't he looked THRILLED. :)

The kids had fun being right under our feet. :)

The bathroom is not complete yet. I still need to find a cute clock and I tile will go on the little easel. It is very bright but I love it!

Hot Play Spot!

So we decided to get a load of dirt for our yard and it became the hot play spot for our neighborhood! It was so funny to see the kids just flock to play on it! Some actually got in on the work! It was fun! Not so fun to have to move the dirt to the flower beds. We will post pics of the flower beds when the bushes get put in.
