Cambrie's 3rd Grade Program

Cambrie had her 3rd grade program today. They sang all kinds of songs about what they had learned throughout the year. She did a great job!

FrontRunner

My Dad called us up and wanted to take the kids on the new FrontRunner. They were having free rides for the public through out the weekend. We knew Parker would love it and that the others would have a good time as well. The rides began at 2 p.m. and you could ride anywhere from Ogden clear down to Salt Lake City and back. We ended up getting to the Roy City stop at about 2:30 p.m. There were probably 100 or more people in front of us, but we thought it would go pretty fast considering the size of this train. Soon after getting in line we were told that they were only letting 30 people on per train and that the trains only came every 30 minutes. This was becoming not so great of an idea. So Dad said he would stand in line while we ran and got some snack for the kids. We ran to a nearby grocery store and just kept tabs on Dad by cell phone while away. An hour went by and with each call the wait seemed to be getting longer. Finally at 4:45 p.m. we got on the train.

During the wait Rob and I decided that the younger kids weren't going to last the train ride down to Salt Lake so we jumped lines and just went up to the Ogden stop and back to Roy. Which was only a 20 minute ride compared to a 2 hour or longer ride. Cambrie and Brennen, my nephew, went with my Dad down to Salt Lake.

Luckily we were able to get a seat together on the top level for most of the ride. Dad, Cambrie and Brennen didn't have such luck. They ended up standing and at times not even being able to sit together. Good thing we sent some books and activities for them along the way. They had a great attitude about it!

Making Funny Faces!

So before Matt, Jessie and Molly left we had to take some funny pictures. We definitely give Aunt Jessie the prize for the best funny face. Good effort Matt and Molly! Jessie we would still love you even if you really looked like that! :)

THERE'S A MOUSE!!!!

While watching conference on Sunday in our basement, Jessie yelled,"There's a mouse .... in the window." I jumped up and there climbing down the screen on the window was a fat little mouse. YUCK! It dropped to the bottom of the window well and while looking at it Rob started pounding on the window, or in Rob's discription "tapping" on the window, anyway...SMASH! Yep, the window busted. We cleaned up the mess and Rob went and got a shovel and sent the mouse to a better place....also know as our garbage can. :) It wasn't pretty.

So the next day, while playing with the kids outside, I decided to scare Jessie. She had just got off the tramp and had grabbed her shoes when I screamed "There's a mouse!" She froze and screamed back, "What...." and then while taking long strides screamed "Are you serious." Her facial expressions and reaction were hilarious. We all busted up laughing and couldn't stop for several minutes afterwards. So before they left Matt helped me act out the whole scenario. We did it in two parts because we forgot to do the "Are you serious" part in the first video. But his facial expression in the first video was so great I am posting both videos.

Fun Times With Aunt Jessie & Uncle Matt

It was so great to have Matt and Jessie stay with us for 2 weeks and also have Molly for a day! The kids had so much fun! We miss you!

Spring Soccer has begun!

Cambrie's soccer season has begun. She has a great little team! We really enjoy watching them play! It is great to see how much she improves from season to season and the confidence she is building in herself.

Last night was the final night of our volleyball league in Layton. We lost our second game in tournament play so it dropped us down into the loser bracket, which meant if we wanted to win the tournament we basically had to play all night long. We played 5 total matches. We started at 6:30 p.m. and finally finished at 11:00 p.m. with only a few minutes in between games. Can I just say my back, feet, legs....ok my whole body was hurting by the time we played our final game. We ended up playing the team that beat us in the beginning of the tournament (The Jazzettes) for the championship game. It was a good match but we ended up beating them in 3 games (best out of five games). Since they hadn't lost a game yet, we had to play them again right after that game. It is called the IF game. Instead of the best of 5 games it was the best of 3. So we had to come out playing. (Listen to me...it sounds like I am back in college again and the National Championship is on the line.) :) We were so tired!!! We had brought fruit with us to keep our energy up, but that wasn't quite doing it anymore. We ended up winning the first game and then losing the second. Third game......yes!!!! We won! We played 15 games winning 14. We got our very expensive t-shirts that we had worked our fannies off for and went directly to the bench and literally collapsed. (ok...maybe not all of us....but I did) We stayed there until they started turning off the lights and kicked us out the the gym. I came straight home and hobbled to my hot shower! I had a horrible night sleep because my feet and back were hurting and as of this minute....it is 11:30 a.m. I am still in my pajamas and I just want to go back to sleep. :) But....even though I feel this way... IT WAS A GREAT SEASON AND I HAD SO MUCH FUN! We have an awesome team and we had so much fun playing together. We are taking a season off and will be back in the fall! I will miss it and look forward to good times in August again! Go Hustle Monkeys!!!
